SR.CELINE PAYYAPPILLY has had 18 years experience as a
Medical Mission Sister and professional nurse at all
levels of functioning at Holy Family Hospital, Patna,
Bihar. In 1980 she joined the Holistic Health Centre in
Pune and earned her Masters and Doctoral Degrees in
Holistic Healing. Her dissertation is on a new research
methodology in clinical research for holistic healing.
She is the Director of the Holistic Health Healing and
Training Centre in Pune. She uses in therapy and teaches
a wide range of holistic therapies which include
acupressure, reflexology,therapeutic touch,applied
kinesiology,whole brain learning, zen shiatsu,
acu-pressure massage and acu-yoga. In 1990 she initiated
Healing Intensive Weeks for group of clients with the
same disease where they can learn together and begin
their treatment regime and set healing goals. SR.CAROL HUSS has over 39 years of experience in
the health field in India. Since 1980 she is working at
the Holistic Health Centre in pune. She has written for
several books and magazines and is the Editor of the
Holistic Health Workbook, and Volumes I,II, and III of The
Banyan Tree. She will return permanently to U.S.A. in
January 1991.
MEERA
IYENGER has a
Masters Degree in Social Work from the Tata Institute of
Social Sciences, Bombay and specialises in Family and
Child Welfare. She has worked as a social worker in a
family welfare agency, as a teacher of economics,teacher
of handicapped, special teacher in a school for the
disabled, with a womens action group in Indore, and
at present is studying computer programming. She was
working on research projects at the Holistic Health
Centre,Pune, when she wrote Chapter 5 on Assertiveness
Training for Volume III of the The Banyan Tree.
RENU
KHANNA has a
Masters Degree in Business Administration and is a
Special Fields Member in the application of Transactional
Analysis to management and reorientation of health care
organisations. She worked on several health care projects
including Christian Medical College at Ludhiana. Since
1984 she has been a trainer, resource person and resource
linker for dissemination of improved cookstoves among
rural women,for organising rural women on environmental
conservation and development. Her other active concerns
have been healing, personal growth related work and
traditional health practices. She has contributed to
several books and articles on her experiences.
S.SRINIVASAN
(CHINU) has
postgraduate degrees in nuclear physics, and in
management. He has worked as a resource person and
resource linker on projects related to health care,
organisation, and community development, drug production,
environmental concerns,alternative technology and
economic development. In recent years, he has been
looking into public advocacy issues in India. His other
basic interests have been in areas related to healing
processes, personal growth and traditonal health systems.
He is also involved with the promotion of low cost books
and toys for disadvantaged children. He has been editor
and contributor to several publications including
VHAIs Health for the Milllions, a book on Management
Process in Health Care, and The Banyan Tree.
